About Battery Health

All lithium-ion batteries degrade over time, but keeping track of that process helps you plan trips and protect your vehicle's resale value. Elvee monitors your battery's health continuously.

How Degradation is Calculated

Elvee reads the maximum usable capacity directly from the Battery Management System (BMS) over multiple charge cycles. This provides a more accurate metric than simple range estimation, which varies with temperature and driving style.

  • Health Score: A percentage score relative to the battery's original factory capacity.

How to Improve Battery Longevity

  • Avoid leaving your car sitting at 0% or 100% state of charge (SoC) for extended periods.
  • Limit Supercharger usage to road trips and use L2 AC charging for daily needs.
  • Set a daily charge limit between 50% and 80% (unless your Tesla uses a Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) battery, which should be charged to 100% weekly).
